Planet Earth

Known as the third planet from the Sun, Earth is nestled among the zodiac constellations. It is affectionately called “The Blue Planet” by those who observe it from afar.

Its surface is adorned with majestic mountains that reach for the sky, defining symbols of both strength and wisdom. These towering peaks, along with vast valleys and forests, are home to a myriad of life forms – plant and animals each free to roam, discover, express, and relish in the experience of life itself.

Yet, Earth is also cloaked in an endless blanket of water. Its oceans, vast and interconnected, carry the message of life across the globe.

Earth shares a vital relationship with the Sun, receiving a continuous supply of energy in the form of light and heat – the very essence that sustains life.

The oceans, too, have a relationship with the Sun. When Earth becomes too warm, it doesn’t resist or complain. Instead, it transforms ocean water into vapor, lifting it into the sky as moisture. This vapor becomes clouds which gentle shield and help cool the planet, allowing life on land to thrive in comfort and continue its expression.

When the Earth heats up, warm air rises. This rising air creates a vacuum, drawing in surrounding air to fill the space. This movement is what we call wind. As the cooler air rushes in and mingles with the warm, balance and harmony is restored. It is a beautiful demonstration and expression of how duality (difference) is natural, nourishing, and necessary.

But it is from the Sea, the majesty of the oceans, that life flows.

Each day, as Earth rotates around the Sun, darkness turns to light. A new day begins. The quiet majesty of the horizon emerges, bringing clear vision into the breadth, height, and depth of the possibilities that lie ahead.

The birds awaken with song and fly through the morning air. They find a gentle breeze to lift their delicate bodies to new heights, as if telling the story of the day to come. The ocean awakens, as it says good morning to the world by offering a wave to join with the soft breeze in a dance of renewal.

The captain of the sailing vessel awakens. He steps out onto the deck, breathes in the wind, feels the breeze, and knows all is right with the world.

Beside him stands a timber and Arctic “sea” wolf, gazing outward and upward. With eyes full of love, the creature confirms the captain’s silent observation. It knows, without words, that God is present.

His wife emerges on deck. Her heart guides her hands with the wisdom of her soul. She brings an unstoppable flow of love and support, aligned with God’s will and direction.

Their granddaughter stands nearby with eyes searching and ears listening, as the morning fills her heart. She is part of the miracle of life, quietly absorbing its wonder.

From the depths of the ocean, a dolphin surfaces, bringing with it a smile of joy – a playful pathway to the day.

It was to this world that The Midnight Sun was created. A strong vessel, built to bond with both the beauty and the fury of the ocean. It listens deeply, responding to God’s breath, always pulled, not pushed, toward new directions of discovery. Each journey leads to a new passage, a safe cove, a place to rest and reflect.
