The Midnight Sun Sailing Vessel was purchased in 1986 during a bleak time, when her fate was set for demolition. Her heritage and history became her saving grace – she had to be protected and honored. Instead of being reduced to a crushed pile of planks, she was resurrected with the intention of becoming a proud research vessel, not of the seas but of humanity. Her legacy continues today.
